FAQ

  • How long are your films typically?

All of our packages include a highlight film which ranges anywhere from 3-8 minutes, depending on which package you choose.

  • What is a highlight film?

A highlight film is a video that's shorter, usually between two to seven minutes, and covers your wedding like a fast-paced moving trailer. It will be similar to a music video, with a lot of cinematic shots, and some soundbites from the toasts and ceremony. No full toast or ceremony edits. But if you decide to upgrade to another package later, you can do that. The way we film is as if you ordered the Documentary Package.

  • Can we get the RAW footage?

Yes as an add-on. The RAW footage is just that, RAW. There’s none of the magic. No color grading or correction, no editing of any kind. Straight out of the camera RAW with SUPER annoying timecode sounds. You can message me about that.

  • Do you offer films longer than the highlight film?

Yes absolutely. We offer a few different packages that can include a “Ceremony Film” (15-30 minutes depending on length of ceremony), a “Toasts Film” (10-30 minutes), and a “Full Documentary Film” (45+ minutes). These add-ons are explained in our pricing guide that we provide when you reach out.

  • Can you shoot extra days in addition to the wedding?

Totally! We usually try to push for this because we get to spend more time with you and your partner to add even more depth to your wedding film. This can look like hanging out at your favorite coffee joint, restaurant, bar etc… talking about how y’all met or just to get footage of you hanging out

  • How much do couples usually spend for you to film their wedding?

Our packages for local weddings in Humboldt County, CA start at $2,995. Our couples spend an average of $5,000 – $7,500 for their wedding day/weekend. A majority of the weddings we film include either an adventure session or an extra day of filming.

  • Do you offer different pricing for elopements or intimate weddings?

We do not. We’ve spend just as much time shooting and editing elopements/intimate weddings as we do for weddings and sometimes it can take even longer if we’ve spent more days with our couples. With elopements, there’s usually a lot more going on as far as activities so we have to be more intentional with capturing for the edit.

  • Will your pricing be the same one month from now?

If you wait to book us, we can’t promise you that our pricing will be the same as when you originally reached out. Our pricing can change due to the high demand.

  • If I ordered the highlight film and want to upgrade later, can I?

Yes! The way we film is as if you ordered the biggest package we offer. So let’s say that you ordered the highlight film and a month later you think “I wish we had there ceremony” we can absolutely add that on to your highlight film.

  • Will my film look like your other films?

Yes and no. Will they be professionally produced in the same way that our other films are? Absolutely. Will they have the same energy and vibe? This totally depends on you two and how your day went. Will they be exactly the same? Absolutely not.

Your film will be totally unique to you and your day – the energy, the vibe, and how it unfolded. If you watch one of our films and think to yourself, “Wow, I want exactly that!” unfortunately we can not do that. Can we go for a similar vibe? 100% if your day had similar energy. There are so many variables that affect your wedding film – setting, lighting (this factor is HUGE), details, audio, moments, and fun events – just to name a few. No two weddings are alike, so we can not guarantee that your film will be or look like someone else’s. Despite every wedding being different from one another, there are definitely certain “categories” that they can fall into. Some of our films share similar themes as you may have noticed – there are folky vibes, edgy vibes, rustic vibes, classy vibes, country vibes, moody vibes – so many vibes!

  • Do you choose the music? Can we suggest?

We choose the music for multiple reasons – the first and foremost being pacing. The song choice literally sets the tone of your entire film. Some songs are great to listen to, but may not be the best choice for a wedding film. We need to use music that builds and has an arc. Oftentimes, the songs we all love lack those crucial elements.

Another important reason we choose music is that we license all of the music we use. It is illegal to use any song without first purchasing a license. Oftentimes, with mainstream music, this can cost in the thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars. Plus, you wouldn’t want to date your film with an Akon song that’s “so 2004”.
